The Lost Summer is an open world 3D adventure style game. This means that your character can walk around freely in the world to complete tasks and interact with other AI; either by clicking on characters, or via your virtual mobile phone. Most of the interactions and progression is through text-based selection, where you choose from options of text to respond and give an answer. Correct responses will alert at the top of the screen via a green tickbox. Your responses makeup how the game will flow and end, based on your empathy to the events and situations taking place.

At the end of each level you’re asked a sequence of questions. This helps you to reflect on what you’ve learned and understand each of the different themes. Because, this is a very fun game, you won’t even realise you’re learning.

Parents are often the best people to help teach their kids but may not be able to keep a close tabs on things. Whatever the case may be, games like these are a good idea. While we can try to 'sit in' on games to help guide behaviour and practices, so much of gaming can occur out of sight and approaches like these may help children learn and start making informed decisions of their own.

This game is great! I downloaded it and played with my niece, it was interesting to see her reactions to questions and themes within the game. 5 out of 5 from me.
